Three Awesome Truths To Give You Hope During This Pandemic

As the Corona Virus pandemic continues on, it seems like all the news we are hearing about it is depressing. So I want to give you three uplifting truths you can hold on to, to encourage your heart and give you hope as we wait on God’s deliverance from this global pandemic we all are experiencing.

#1 God will deliver us from this pandemic

Psalm 34:19 declares, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” I love this because it tells me there is a definite end date for this pandemic and whatever we are facing. God will deliver us either in this life or the next. But He will deliver us.

Psalm 34:19 makes it clear it’s a never a matter of IF God will deliver us. It’s only a matter of when. God has an expiration date stamped on every one of our trials including this one were in because of the corona virus pandemic.

So, the next time you open your fridge and you see a expiration date stamped on you food, be encouraged that God also has an expiration date on each and every trial you face!

#2 God will provide all that we need during this pandemic, and beyond

We can be encouraged as we wait on God to deliver us from the corona virus pandemic, that He will surely provide all that we need. Philippians 4:19 promises “And my God shall supply ALL your need according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ."

Jesus has already proved that He is an excellent provider to us because He has already abundantly provided for our greatest need—eternal salvation. By trusting in Jesus by faith, as our Lord and Savior, we are guaranteed that the second we die, we will live forever with Jesus in heaven. Our salvation is eternally secure in Jesus. So since Jesus has already met our greatest need—eternal salvation—how much more will surely meet our current and future needs, all which pale in comparison to our greatest need which Jesus has already provided for?

#3 God is bringing good out of this pandemic in countless ways

God has so many blessings for us throughout this pandemic, that we never would have otherwise known, had we never gone through this.  John Piper says, “God is doing 10,000 things in your life right now. You may only be aware of three. “ God is actively working this trial to our good and His glory.

Psalm 84:11 promises, The Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

We may look at this pandemic and how our life has dramatically changed  though temporarily, and wonder when all of this is going to end. But remember Psalm 34:19 says God will deliver us from every trial (including this one!)? Because of that we can rest assured He WILL deliver us. Well from Psalm 84:11 we can be confident that God does not withhold good from those who walk uprightly. So when we are walking uprightly—daily trusting in Jesus and living a life pleasing to Him, He guarantees He will not withhold any good thing from us.

So you may wonder, if God doesn’t withhold good from us, why is He allowing this pandemic to continue which has caused so much grief and suffering? I’ve found in my own life as I’ve studied Psalm 84:11 that we can expect a trial to remain ONLY as long as God has good within it He wants to give us. To deliver us before He has exhausted every bit of good for us that can come out of that trial would, in essence, be withholding good from us, which totally goes against God’s character. When God has wrung out every drop of good from our trial, He will certainly deliver us because He does not withhold good from those who walk uprightly.

In the book of Genesis, God could have had prevented Joseph from being sold into slavery, and from being falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife and imprisoned. God also could have used the cup bearer to remember Joseph much sooner than two years later, who met Joseph in prison, and was released from prison just as Joseph had said after Joseph had interpreted the cupbearer and the baker’s dreams.

But what if that cupbearer had remembered Joseph immediately after being restored to his position as Pharaoh’s cup bearer? Joseph would have been released from prison and may not have been easy to track down to interpret Pharoah’s dream once the cupbearer remembered him two years later.

Joseph was exactly where he needed to be in God’s great plan. Because of that God used Joseph to save many lives during the great 7-year famine.  Joseph understood that God was using Joseph’s circumstances to bring forth amazing good Joseph could never have imagined, or experienced, had he not gone through every one of those trials.
So be encouraged that:

#1 God will deliver us from this pandemic

#2 God will provide all that we need during this pandemic, and beyond

and #3 God is bringing good out of this pandemic in countless ways

Finally, I want to share one of my favorite songs, that always blesses my heart. He Will Rejoice by Trevor Morgan. It's Zephaniah 3:17 set to music, and it's beautiful! Check out the lyrics:

Verse:
The Lord your God is with you
He is mighty to save
He will take great delight in you
He will quiet you with his love

Chorus:
He will rejoice over you with singing
He will rejoice over you with his song
He will rejoice over you with singing
He will rejoice over you with his song. Yeah

Bridge:
And through the night (In your darkest hour)
When you are tired (And you've lost your ?????)
He will hold you tight

------------------------------------

I pray this song encourages your heart and gives you something wonderful to think on during these uncertain times.
