If you are ever in a setting where prayer requests are being shared you know that there are no shortage of trials. So are you facing any trials now? Are you anxious about anything in your life and could use some uplifting words of comfort? If so I invite you to consider the following precious promises of God to you. May your the worries of your day be replaced in your mind with these priceless promises.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:18-19
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?My help comes from the LORD,Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:3-5
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5b
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
and my personal favorite :)
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19
Finally a story I heard from Pastor Brian Larson of CC Truckee always encourages me when I am going though a fiery trial. He said that an elderly lady in the body was going through something hard, yet she had an amazing peace about her. Wondering why (had the Lord delivered her?) Pastor Brian asked. She hadn't been delivered yet from her trial but said this instead. "The reason I have such peace and joy despite my circumstances is because one day the world experienced the worst day in the history of the world--the day that Jesus died on the cross. But then just three days later, the world experienced the most wonderful day in the history of the world--the day Jesus rose from the dead. So when I am going through something horrible, I give it three days, and God is always faithful to bring about a resurrection."
